In the Salvation Army music is a big part of our heritage. Our expression of worship is both traditional and contemporary blended to enrich the worship experience to all who participate in worship with us.
Brass banding has been a part of the Salvation Army since 1878 when Charles Fry and his three sons formed a brass quartet which played during the outdoor meetings. Throughout the life of the Salvation Army brass banding has and continues to be used to spread the word of good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ all over the world for the salvation of souls.
Here at Winterberry Heights Church, our band consists of members of all ages who have made a commitment of their lives to follow Jesus Christ, a commitment to the Band and its ministry and have a competency for brass banding.
The Winterberry Heights Band is a vital part of Sunday worship and also provides meaningful worship at nursing homes, hospitals and special events throughout the year, which includes Christmas serenading within our community.
Our Sunday morning worship is enhanced by appealing to different preferences in worship music. Our worship team uses a blend of contemporary and more traditional music to worship God and lead the congregation in a full worship experience.
